Have you had to spend time and energy taking care of a sick child?

Have you had to prioritize away other things in your life because you needed to focus on making sure your sick child was as comfortable as possible? And in the midst of this, do you feel guilty because you can’t spend as much time with your healthy child?

Then I might have something for you.

I grew up in a home where two of my younger siblings received a rather serious diagnosis at a young age. In my talk, “A Really Sick Upbringing”, I share what it was like to grow up in a family that spent a lot of time in hospitals, and experienced one crisis after another. I believe that sharing my experience will help you to develop a better relationshipwith your children, your partner, and not least, with yourself.

"Siblings’ experiences with caring for and observing their ill siblings’ course of illness may also give them an appreciation for life and understanding of its fragility that siblings in well families may not be able to comprehend."
